Job Description

We are seeking a Field Process Engineer to drive on-siteprocess engineering support with Field Operations,coordinate field activities to support innovation initiativesand work closely with our customers on troubleshootingand/or future planning for their facilities. This role is rootedin effective internal and external collaboration that bridgesour technical teams with field operations ensuringoperational excellence, customer responsiveness andinnovation focus.

Essential Responsibilities

Field Operations Support

  • Ensure that Water Treatment Projects/Plants operateto meet process requirements during commissioning,performance test and warranty periods.
  • Ensure complex systems that might includeConventional Technologies, Reverse Osmosis,Ultrafiltration, Ion Exchange Units, Thermal and othertechnologies operate within the design parameters.
  • Proactively review Process Design Parameters,Process and Instrumentation Diagram, Mass Balances,and Performance Test Requirements prior to pre-commissioning phase in order to anticipate training,tools and/or laboratory equipment needed to performthe necessary startup and operating activitieswithProcess Engineering and Field Operations.
  • Ensure technical solutions are properly communicatedto key internal and external stakeholders in order toexpedite project execution.
  • Assist Customers and Field staff with best operatingpractices, development of standard operatingprocedures (SOPs), and process-specific trainingduring commissioning activities and/or normaloperation.
  • Provide in-office and on-site project technical supportduring installation and commissioning phase, projectcloseout and warranty periods.
  • Work with Field Operations to collect and analyzerelevant operating information from multiple sources,including control systems, databases, log sheets, dailyoperation logs and/or operator interactions in order totroubleshoot operational challenges.
  • Work closely with the Process Engineering and FieldOperations teams and others to ensure that issues aredealt with in a timely manner.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement Support

  • Support the development and testing of newprocesses and technologies at North American
  • customer sites or other locations
  • Collaborate with the innovation program managersto operationalize field activities related to new
  • solutions in field environments
  • Document lessons learned and best practices fromfield implementations for Process Engineering
  • Process Design Support when field process engineering and innovation supportneeds are not as active on site, this role includes flexibilityto perform traditional process engineering work. Thisresponsibility is secondary in priority and facilitatesopportunities for further technical growth.
  • Design complete water, wastewater, or wastetreatment solutions (flow sheet, unit processes,process parameters) that will meet the customer'srequirements for a given influent and required effluentstream qualities using various in house and industrydesign tools
  • Application of advanced treatment technologiesincluding solids separation, low- and high-pressure
  • membrane treatment (ultrafiltration, nanofiltration,reverse osmosis - conventional and high-pH), ionexchange, UV treatment, and gas-transfer membraneprocesses to meet the stringent requirements specificto the microelectronics industry
  • Contribute to the overall Process Flow Diagram (PFD),associated flow tables or mass balance, and overall
  • process guarantees, including management of theinterconnections between unit processes and
  • consideration of any impacts of one unit process onupstream or downstream unit processes.
  • Engagement in piloting and benchmarking &treatability studies as part of design, commissioning,troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of UPWand WW treatment solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related physicalscience (physics, chemistry, biology) with minimum 8years experience with water and wastewater treatmentequipment.
  • Valid passport and driver's license.
  • Ability to travel (60-90 days/year) throughout NorthAmerica.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Work independently with minimal direction and makedecisions, adapting quickly as needed.
  • Strong aptitude for planning, prioritizing, organizing,scheduling, assigning and evaluating work coupledwith clear, concise communication and presentationskills.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team environment across different offices/geographicalregions.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new problems, clients, andsituations.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles withability to build relationships and balance customer andinternal teams

Desired Characteristics

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with process optimization and leanmethodologies
  • Project management experience
