Position Overview
| Essential Job Duties |
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lu Lab (
https://changlulab.com), based at NC State University, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar to develop single-cell and spatial epigenomic technologies and apply these tools to study brain neuroscience, investigate cancer therapeutic resistance, and decipher aging. Advanced single-cell and spatial omic technologies generate insights into development and diseases with unprecedented resolution.
The Lu lab pioneered the development of microfluidics-based epigenomic technologies and applied these novel tools to profile tissue samples to gain biomedical insights. The postdoc will lead technology development projects and conduct mechanistic studies in the field of single-cell epigenomics. The position offers access to state-of-the-art facilities and close collaborations within interdisciplinary teams involving engineers, biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinicians.
Technology Development:
Design, implement, and optimize devices and methods to enhance or develop new epigenomic profiling capabilities. Focus on leveraging modern molecular biology technologies including sequencing and genome editing.
Data Analysis:
Gather and process large-scale omic data. Conduct multi-omic analysis to identify key features associated with development and diseases.
Collaboration & Publication:
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams of engineers, molecular biologists, and clinicians to apply advanced epigenomic and multi-omic tools to a variety of diseases. Publish results in high-impact journals and present findings at conferences.
Mentorship:
Mentor graduate students and junior researchers in experimental and bioinformatic studies. |
