Description
Set the Stage. Move the Room. Make the Event Happen.

Before the guests arrive, you make the room come to life.

A meeting room doesn't set itself.

Tables need to be positioned.
Chairs need to be arranged.
Staging needs to be moved.
Water and glassware need to be ready.
And when one event ends, the room needs to be transformed for whatever comes next.

That's where our Banquet Houseperson comes in.

We're looking for an energetic, dependable team member who takes pride in creating clean, organized, event-ready spaces and doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves to get the job done.

If you enjoy staying active, working with a team, and seeing the immediate results of your hard work, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What You'll Do

  • Communicate with your supervisor throughout the shift to understand priorities, event needs, and upcoming room changes.
  • Set up meeting rooms according to guest and event specifications.
  • Move and arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, podiums, and other meeting-room equipment.
  • Transport equipment and materials from storage areas to meeting rooms.
  • Supply meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.
  • Replenish meeting-room supplies as needed.
  • Break down meeting rooms after events conclude.
  • Return equipment and materials to designated storage areas.
  • Reset rooms so they are ready for the next function.
  • Maintain established cleaning schedules for meeting rooms and ballrooms.
  • Keep meeting spaces clean, organized, presentable, and ready for guests.
  • Work closely with the Banquet Manager and other team members to keep events running smoothly.
  • Respond professionally and courteously to guests and coworkers.
  • Pitch in and support the team wherever needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

The position is highly hands-on and includes continuously setting up and breaking down meeting spaces, moving equipment, replenishing supplies, and maintaining meeting rooms and ballrooms. Banquet Houseperson (1)

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Energetic and hands-on - you like staying busy and getting things done.
  • Dependable - your team can count on you to show up and be ready.
  • Physically capable - you're comfortable moving furniture and equipment throughout a shift.
  • A team player - you're willing to jump in wherever help is needed.
  • Detail-oriented - you notice when a room isn't quite ready and know that the details matter.
  • Organized - you can follow room setups and event specifications.
  • Adaptable - every event and room setup can be different.
  • Professional and courteous - you understand that guests see you as part of the hotel team.
  • A self-starter - you don't need someone standing over you to keep you moving.
  • Safety-minded - you understand the importance of properly handling equipment and following hotel procedures.

The role requires knowledge of different meeting-room setups, including configurations such as round and schoolroom tables. It also requires significant physical activity, including moving tables, chairs, podiums, and other equipment. Banquet Houseperson (1)

Why Join Our Banquet Team?

Because you get to see your work come together.

You start with an empty room.

Then the transformation begins.

Tables go in.

Chairs are arranged.

The space takes shape.

Water and glassware are ready.

The room is clean and polished.

And suddenly, it's ready for a wedding, conference, celebration, meeting, or special event.

You helped make that happen.

Then, when the event is over, you do it all again-preparing the space for the next group and the next memorable experience.

The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here

You might be the perfect fit if you're the person who:

Likes staying busy rather than sitting around.

Doesn't mind physical work.

Can look at an empty room and see what needs to happen next.

Takes pride in a perfectly arranged event space.

Works quickly without sacrificing attention to detail.

Doesn't hesitate to help a coworker move something or finish a setup.

Can adapt when an event setup changes at the last minute.

Likes being part of a team where everyone has an important role.

More Than Setup-You're Part of the Experience.

Guests may never know who moved the tables.

They may never see who prepared the ballroom before they arrived.

But they'll notice when the room looks beautiful, organized, clean, and ready.

That's your contribution.

You're helping create the environment where people celebrate milestones, build businesses, gather with family, learn, connect, and create memories.

The event may be about the guest-but you're an important part of making it happen.

Our associates are expected to maintain professionalism, courtesy, teamwork, punctuality, adaptability, and safe work practices while supporting a positive guest experience. Banquet Houseperson (1)

Ready to Make the Room Come Alive?

If you're dependable, energetic, enjoy physical work, and want to be part of a team that helps create amazing events, we'd love to meet you.

Bring your energy.
Bring your work ethic.
Bring your teamwork.
