POSITION SUMMARY

Diversified is seeking a Manager of Warehousing/Inventory Process & Systems to lead the design and delivery of process standardization and systems modernization across our domestic distribution network of 26 warehouses and 12 forward operating bases supporting installation and managed services projects.

The network currently operates on both Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Great Plains, supported by manual processes, homegrown tools and spreadsheet-based tracking, without a warehouse management system. Inventory is reconciled manually, shipment status is tracked through direct communication with carriers and sites, and visibility into material in transit is limited.

This role will lead both process modernization efforts and Warehouse tech stack selection and implementation, inclusive of a warehouse management system, automated integration with major suppliers, and automation of tracking from shipment through receipt. The position is structured as a program role through implementation and transitions to a permanent supply chain process and systems function at go-live, with ongoing responsibility for continuous improvement and automation initiatives.

The dotted-line reporting relationship to the EVP of Integration and Operations provides executive visibility and ensures program priorities remain appropriately resourced alongside daily operational demands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Current state assessment and process design

  • Document existing processes at each site, including informal practices and workarounds not reflected in current documentation
  • Design standardized network-wide processes for receiving, put-away, cycle counting, staging, kitting, pick/pack, shipping, returns, and RMA handling
  • In partnership with Business Systems, establish the master data foundation required for a technical implementation of a warehouse management system, including item master cleanup, consistent location and bin naming conventions, unit-of-measure standardization, and on-hand balance accuracy
  • Identify and deliver process improvements within D365 and existing tools, including structured receiving, location logic, scan-based transactions, and reporting to replace manual tracking

Tool selection and implementation

  • Lead requirements definition, RFP development, vendor evaluation, and selection recommendation for warehouse management tooling
  • Develop the business case and total cost of ownership model covering licensing, implementation services, hardware, integration, and internal resource requirements
  • Define the D365 integration architecture in partnership with IT and Finance, including system of record determination, transaction posting logic, and reconciliation processes
  • Evaluate platforms against project-based distribution requirements including kitting, serialized asset tracking, project allocation, and customer-owned inventory
  • Manage the implementation partner relationship and performance against scope, schedule, and quality commitments
  • Plan and execute rollout, including pilot site selection, configuration, testing, cutover, training, hypercare support, and sequencing for remaining locations

Supplier and carrier integration

  • Partner with IT on the implementation of EDI and API integration with major manufacturers and distributors covering purchase orders, order acknowledgments, advance ship notices, and invoices
  • Apply supplier ASN data to pre-populate receiving transactions, providing sites with advance visibility into inbound contents, timing, and packaging configuration
  • Define data standards for supplier transactions and manage the onboarding process for each major trading partner
  • Integrate carrier tracking data to maintain a single record from purchase order through delivery

Tracking automation

  • Automate tracking of material from shipment through confirmed receipt at warehouse and forward operating base locations
  • Implement automated status capture through supplier ASNs, carrier API and EDI feeds, and scan events at each handoff, with exception alerting for missed milestones
  • Establish automated three-way matching between purchase order, shipment, and receipt to identify discrepancies at the point of receipt
  • Replace manual receiving confirmation with scan-based transactions that update inventory, project allocation, and financial records concurrently
  • Extend tracking capability to inter-site transfers and material movement to and from job sites
  • Develop self-service visibility tools for project management and field operations teams

Training and adoption

  • Develop and deliver training for site teams transitioning to new tooling, including materials, delivery cadence, and reinforcement
  • Identify and develop site-level superusers to sustain standards following hypercare
  • Report adoption progress and barriers to the Senior Director of Supply Chain, who holds authority for enforcement of operating standards
  • Establish measurement to assess effectiveness of process changes and revise approaches where results fall short

Ongoing responsibilities following implementation

  • Lead continuous improvement across the distribution network, including identification, business case development, and delivery of automation opportunities
  • Manage ongoing supplier onboarding and EDI compliance
  • Maintain supply chain reporting and analytics for the Senior Director and EVP

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 7+ years in supply chain, distribution, or logistics operations, including direct experience in warehouse process design
  • Experience on a WMS implementation in a lead or core team role, including requirements definition, configuration, testing, and site cutover
  • Demonstrated record of converting manual processes to system-enabled processes with measurable results
  • Working knowledge of ERP-WMS integration; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Supply Chain Management strongly preferred
  • Experience with EDI or API integration to suppliers or carriers, including ASN-driven receiving
  • Strong analytical capability, including data quality assessment, business case development, and reporting
  • Willingness to work on-site at warehouse locations for extended periods during assessment and implementation
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, information systems, business, or equivalent experience

Preferred

  • WMS implementation in an environment with no prior system in place
  • Project-based distribution experience in AV, low-voltage, construction, telecommunications, or comparable industries
  • Working knowledge of EDI transaction sets (850, 855, 856, 810) and API alternatives
  • Barcode, RFID, and mobile data capture deployment
  • Lean, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, APICS CPIM, or PMP certification
  • Serialized asset and customer-owned inventory management
