Position Title: Painter
Wage: $20.00-$22.00 per hour Shift: 3rd Hours: 9:30pm-6:00am (Sun-Thurs) QPS Employment Group has a great Painter position available at a company in Davenport, IA. This is a 3rd shift position with the opportunity for hire. Painter Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Perform prep duties including grinding, sanding, cleaning, coating, and masking parts as required. - Transport, stage, and move materials, parts, and equipment to support finishing operations. - Prepare and paint parts using tools such as orbital and dual action sanders, pneumatic grinders, industrial spray guns, and chemical products. - Ensure substrates are prepared adequately and according to customer specifications. - Mix paint accurately, including proper ratios of hardeners, thinners, and solvent/water-based coatings. - Dismantle and clean painting equipment, maintaining a contamination-free mixing area. - Assist with jacket patch painting and touch-up work as necessary. - Operate vibratory finishing equipment as required. - Package completed parts for shipment according to standards. - Complete required paperwork and follow daily instructions, schedules, and processes. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. - Collaborate with team members to meet production goals. - Other duties as assigned. Painter Requirements: - Ability to perform prep work including cleaning, masking, sanding, and grinding parts. - Ability to learn painting and coating basics including mixing, preparing, and application. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. - Ability to follow detailed instructions and internal control methods, including customer requirements and internal specifications. - Effective communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to become fork truck certified. - Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. - High school diploma or GED. - Previous experience in liquid coatings required. - Regularly required to sit, stand and walk; use hands to finger and feel; reach with hands and arms, including above shoulders and overhead; talk and hear. - Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds.
