At Enbridge, we are committed to delivering safe, reliable energy while advancing operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth. We are seeking a Specialist II, TIS Application Observability to serve as the technical authority for our enterprise observability platform and monitoring strategy. In this role, you will transform application and infrastructure telemetry into actionable insights that improve service reliability, reduce operational noise, and accelerate incident resolution. You will partner with application, infrastructure, and service management teams to embed observability into the software development lifecycle while driving automation, standardization, and continuous improvement across a complex hybrid technology landscape.

If you thrive in a collaborative, customer-focused environment and enjoy developing innovative solutions that create mutual value, we'd love to hear from you.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the architecture, administration, and optimization of Enbridge's Dynatrace observability platform, ensuring scalable and consistent monitoring across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments.
  • Drive enterprise-wide application onboarding and observability adoption by collaborating with application owners, development teams, and managed service providers.
  • Design and enhance alerting, event management, and incident integrations to improve service reliability, reduce false-positive alerts, and lower MTTI and MTTR.
  • Develop and maintain observability-as-code solutions using CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Define, implement, and report on service level indicators (SLIs), service level objectives (SLOs), and key business performance metrics for critical applications.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex monitoring and performance issues, leading root-cause analysis and driving long-term reliability improvements.
  • Mentor technical teams and contribute to observability governance, best practices, standards, and strategic roadmap development across the organization.

Who You Are:

  • Related university degree or two-year technical diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Without a degree, 3 additional years of related experience are required.
  • 7+ years of directly related experience in application performance monitoring, observability, site reliability engineering (SRE), or IT operations, including significant hands-on Dynatrace experience within a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong expertise in Dynatrace technologies, including OneAgent, ActiveGate, Davis AI, Smartscape, PurePath and distributed tracing, real-user and synthetic monitoring, log analytics, IAM policies, Workflows, and Dynatrace APIs.
  • Proven experience designing monitoring strategies, implementing observability standards, and leveraging metrics, logs, traces, SLIs, and SLOs to improve application health and performance.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS), Kubernetes, microservices, REST APIs, ServiceNow integrations, and modern DevOps practices.
  • A record of measurable results, such as lower MTTR, fewer false-positive alerts or wider monitoring coverage.
  • Strong automation and scripting skills using tools such as Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Git, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
  • Advanced experience with Dynatrace Query Language on Grail, including complex queries, dashboards and Notebooks.
  • Expedience with networking and databases such as TCP/IP, DNS and load balancers; monitoring SQL and NoSQL database performance.
  • Collaborate to work better across silos; works with application, infrastructure, cyber, ITSM and vendor teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into meaningful business outcomes.

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications such as Dynatrace Associate, Professional or Master, CAPM, PMP, CSM, or cloud and platform certifications including Azure, AWS, OpenTelemetry, or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) would be an asset.
  • Experience leading or supporting enterprise observability initiatives, including establishing an Observability Centre of Excellence, implementing monitoring strategies, and driving adoption across large organizations.
  • Knowledge of observability and monitoring technologies such as Splunk, Datadog, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Kafka, ELK, Cribl, and enterprise platforms including Oracle, SAP, Maximo, Workday, and OIC.
