Join a pioneering team at the forefront of revolutionizing transportation, where cutting-edge technology meets the future of mobility. Our client, a leader in developing advanced autonomous systems, is partnering with Aquent to find exceptional talent dedicated to shaping the next generation of intelligent vehicles. This is an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking hardware that will power autonomous fleets, making a tangible impact on how the world moves.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager to drive the development of our next-generation autonomous hardware. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in bringing complex systems from initial concept through to full production, directly influencing the performance and reliability of our innovative products. Your expertise will be crucial in orchestrating cross-functional teams and external partners, ensuring seamless execution and the successful delivery of transformative technology.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end program management for next-generation hardware development programs, guiding them from concept and architecture through engineering builds (EVT/DVT/PVT) and into production ramp.
  • Translate overarching corporate strategy and milestones into detailed product roadmaps, clear timelines, and actionable deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with diverse cross-functional teams-including Hardware, Software, Firmware, Functional Safety, System, Procurement, and Vehicle Development-to synchronize priorities, manage dependencies, and ensure every team understands their contributions.
  • Partner strategically with external contract manufacturers (CMs) to plan and execute prototype and engineering builds, integrate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) feedback into the design, and prepare programs for a smooth production ramp.
  • Develop and maintain standard reports, regularly communicating program progress, status, identified issues/risks, and key accomplishments to cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Proactively identify potential problems and risks, driving timely risk-mitigation actions to closure with relevant engineering teams and CMs.
  • Structure meeting agendas to facilitate key decisions, eliminate bottlenecks, and minimize project risks.
  • Support critical decision-making processes by collaborating across engineering, finance, and strategy functions to achieve optimal outcomes.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in hardware Technical Program Management or Engineering Program Management, with a proven track record of end-to-end hardware development from concept through EVT/DVT/PVT to production ramp.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience), coupled with a strong hardware background.
  • Previous experience collaborating with external contract manufacturers (CMs) throughout development builds and into production ramp.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, firmware, functional safety, and systems engineering.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to clearly and concisely report program progress and risks to both cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in tools essential for managing complex programs, such as Jira and Gantt charts.
  • Adaptability and composure in fast-paced development cycles, demonstrating flexibility and calm in the face of uncertainty.
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Strong preference for candidates with end-to-end development experience within the Automotive industry or Consumer Electronics sector, specifically at the systems or sub-system level.
  • Experience directly managing two or more full program development cycles for systems involving significant hardware and software integration.
  • Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Technical Program Management experience with production programs during mass production (MP) and post-MP sustaining phases.
  • Strong professional references that attest to your ability to cultivate robust working relationships with senior leaders and engineers across various functions and departments.
