Open to remote. However, it will require onsite days if local to Milwaukee or NYC. For the Milwaukee office, onsite days are M, T, and W. For the NYC office, onsite days are Thursday plus 1 other day.

Lead IAM Engineer (IGA)

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Lead IAM Engineer to support, develop, and enhance our Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solutions. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of our Identity and Access Management processes. This position requires a strong background in IAM and software development, with the ability to architect, design, and implement IGA technologies. The Lead IAM Engineer will work closely with stakeholders across the organization, communicate effectively to bridge technical and non-technical aspects of IAM, and possess a broad knowledge of IAM principles and practices.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, and implement Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) technologies ensuring these solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure.

  • Design and develop custom software and tools to automate IAM processes and workflows while applying software development practices including version control, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.

  • Analyze and reverse engineer complex IT systems to provide recommendations and designs for improved security and process efficiency.

  • Develop, document, and enforce IAM policies, procedures, and standards ensuring IAM processes comply with regulatory and organizational requirements.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to find common ground for technical solutions that provide the most security while enabling the business.

  • Develop and maintain IAM performance metrics and reports; provide regular updates to senior management on the status of IAM initiatives and projects.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members by providing training, guidance on industry best practices, and knowledge transfer sessions.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of IAM principles, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience in the IT field.

  • 6-8 years of professional experience required.

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar certifications are highly desirable.

  • Hands-on experience and proficiency with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, PowerShell, or C#.

  • Proficiency in IAM tools and technologies with SailPoint IdentityIQ experience preferred.

  • Experience designing and developing Lifecycle Management, Access Certifications, Role-Based Access Control, and Separation of Duties solutions.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience in software development practices, including version control, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing IAM solutions, including integration with various systems and platforms.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$112,210.00

Pay Range - End:

$208,390.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
