We are currently looking for a full-time Operations Manager to implement and coordinate all production processes, including printing and conversion. The Operations Manager will provide direction and leadership to the production supervisors and will be responsible for the continuous improvement of all production areas and the achievement of identified goals and targets. The Operations Manager will ensure that the various production departments interact in a cohesive manner to achieve the overall objectives of the plant. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

  • Ensure that the company makes the best possible product in the most productive and efficient way.
  • Evaluate all plant equipment, production methods, and equipment maintenance schedules in cooperation with the Maintenance Manager; to develop, propose and document suggestions to the Management Team related to equipment, maintenance, methods and staff to improve quality and productivity.
  • Identify and anticipate safety concerns and hazards; develop and enforce safety systems, policies and procedures.
  • Support sales growth within the company through direct and indirect contact with customers.
  • Manage and support R&D for new product development and process optimization.
  • Continuous improvement in scrap, safety, quality and productivity.
  • Evaluate personnel needs; make all employment related decisions regarding plant personnel, including hiring, promotion, termination and recommended pay increases, in close cooperation with the department managers and Human Resources.
  • Develop and implement programs for the training and development of all plant employees.
  • Perform or supervise periodic performance evaluations for all plant personnel in written English.
  • Develop budgets for all production departments; when budgets are approved and implemented, follow up on compliance and results; take corrective action as necessary to ensure budget targets are met.
  • Attend Management Review Meetings as scheduled. Carry out any corrective/preventive action assigned from the meeting as effectively and quickly as practical.
  • Motivate co-workers and subordinates to participate in team effort.
  • Acts as a positive role model for all employees.
  • Execute all functions in a manner consistent with the company mission, goals and philosophy.
  • Implement and enforce all company policies as set forth in the Employee Handbook or as otherwise made known by the company.
  • Food Safety Team member - The core responsibility of the food safety team is to implement the HACCP plan. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: monitoring prerequisite program standards, monitoring safe food handling practices, maintaining appropriate records, and training workers.
  • Perform other essential and non-essential functions as assigned.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with the requirements of the organization's safety policies, quality management system and hygiene management standards, including following all related procedures and work instructions.

  • Superior knowledge and experience in all phases of production operations for flexible packaging materials.
  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO9000 Certification requirements and processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Strong coaching, development and training skills for production personnel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple issues/projects simultaneously.
  • Superior mechanical aptitude.
  • Achievements that demonstrate your ability to manage change and growth.
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management or other relevant training.

Primary Job Location: Office and Plant; available to meet with teams across several shifts.

Compensation:

The compensation and reference to benefits for this role is listed on this posting in compliance with applicable law. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications. Please note that the compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to successful candidates who are hired onto local United States payroll.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $115,927 - $145,000
