About the Job

The University of Minnesota, Department of Pediatrics seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor to join the Department of Pediatrics: Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology. The Division currently includes two other allergy/immunology providers - one full time and one with an adjunct appointment.

Responsibilities will include 70% clinical care (primarily in Pediatrics; clinical time in Medicine will be per preference of the candidate). Additional responsibilities (30%) will include teaching medical students, residents and fellows; engaging in productive interdisciplinary and inter-institutional clinical and/or research activities; and assisting in developing an Allergy/Immunology fellowship training program.

Qualifications

Qualifications include board certification or board eligibility in Allergy & Immunology, a minimum of two years of fellowship training in Allergy & Immunology, board certification in General Pediatrics or Internal Medicine, and medical licensure in Minnesota by starting date. Candidates must have demonstrated accomplishment in clinical service, education, and clinical/translational research. Experience in the diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with suspected or defined inborn errors of immunity/primary immunodeficiencies is expected. Expertise in clinical allergy and asthma is also desired. Experience establishing clinical care programs is highly desired.

The Department of Pediatrics is a thriving academic department with over 225 faculty members and ranks in the top 15 nationally in NIH funding. Children are cared for at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, opened in 2011. The University of Minnesota campus is on the shores of the Mississippi River and the city of Minneapolis, a short distance away from St. Paul. Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $118,200; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
