LMI currently has an opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to support an Intelligence Community customer in the McLean area. The ideal candidate will identify opportunities for AI/ML and develop AI/ML models for intelligence analysis. This role involves researching, strategizing, developing, and deploying AI/ML models to enhance intelligence capabilities, streamline workflows, and support decision-making.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will identify opportunities for innovation and leverage advanced AI/ML techniques as a Senior Data Scientist for an Intelligence Community (IC) client providing thought leadership with current and future efforts. Key responsibilities include:

    Identify opportunities for AI/ML integration to enhance intelligence analysis and workflows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and identify potential AI/ML solutions.
  • Design and implement scalable AI/ML models for tasks such as information retrieval, natural language processing, predictive analytics, and automation.
  • Source and process large datasets from diverse sources.
  • Deploy AI/ML models into production environments and integrate with existing systems.
  • Monitor model performance and retrain models as needed.
  • Research and explore new AI/ML methodologies.
  • Work closely with intelligence analysts and other cross-functional teams to source requirements and implement AI/ML solutions effectively.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, with a focus on AI/ML.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying AI/ML models in a professional setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex issues.
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret large datasets.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in the intelligence or defense sector is highly desirable.
  • TS/SCI with polygraph is required.

Target salary range: $143,000 - $252,000 Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
