TWB (a part of Worthington Steel) is seeking a Welding Engineering Intern to join their team. This position offers valuable hands-on experience and learning opportunities in the field of welding engineering. As an intern, you will work closely with our experienced Engineering team and contribute to projects in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. Why you'll love interning here: * Gain practical experience in a leading manufacturing organization * Collaborate with experienced professionals who are eager to mentor and guide you * Access to a diverse range of welding engineering projects * Exposure to cutting-edge technology and industry best practices * Opportunity to make meaningful contributions and see the impact of your work * Competitive compensation package * Networking opportunities with industry experts Responsibilities: * Assist in the development and execution of welding engineering projects * Collaborate with the team to improve welding processes and techniques * Conduct research and analysis to support new product development initiatives * Participate in troubleshooting and resolving welding-related issues * Learn and apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and quality * Support the maintenance of standardized operating procedures * Assist in data collection and analysis for process improvement projects * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion * Contribute to continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team Skills and Qualifications: * Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field * Knowledge or coursework in welding processes and techniques * Familiarity with industrial controls (PLC) and robotics is a plus * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment * Eagerness to learn and contribute to projects * Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Additional Requirements: * Must be physically able to work in a manufacturing environment * Openness to occasional travel for expanded development opportunities throughout TWB * Valid driver's license required * Potential for continued co-op - working full-time during breaks and part-time while continuing studies Note: This is an internship position, and the duration and compensation will be determined based on the individual's availability and agreement with TWB (Worthington). |
