The Business Development Manager is responsible for business development efforts with existing and new customers. This position drives sales growth by creating selling strategies to grow market share in each relevant product and service offering, develops and leverages relationships with clients, and provides excellent customer service and expert consultation during each transaction.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generates new revenue, and increases sales of material products within targeted accounts to achieve sales goals through prospecting and closing new business primarily over the phone
  • Develops and implements selling strategies to grow territory
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships with key decision makers
  • Educates customers about MSI's products and services and consistently emphasizes our value proposition
  • Researches the competition and the markets of MSI and our customers to stay abreast of competitors, developments in competitive products, and changes in the market. Shares information with MSI sales team as necessary
  • Proactively communicates with the customer to ensure all commitments and obligations for the customer are met and/or are exceeded throughout the project/order and provides ongoing support to ensure that needs are met
  • Provides excellent customer service by providing quotes, order confirmations, and following through on potential opportunities in a timely manner
  • Maintains a positive buying experience for the customer during each transaction
  • Other duties as assigned to support the growth of MSI
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business and/or Marketing or related field, and/or equivalent relevant sales experience.
  • Above average proficiency in MS Office Products, moderate skill level in Excel desired
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-directed and able to independently manage time and projects; results driven
  • Ability to gather, analyze and accurately interpret detailed information
  • Demonstrated above average organizational skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

There is a minimal risk of injury. Work hours are generally 40 hours a week during normal business hours. May require some additional hours as needed. Business travel required at least 50% of the time.
