JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Campus Recreation is seeking Penn State students to fill the position of Challenge Course Facilitator. This position is responsible for facilitating a wide variety of programming utilizing the challenge course facilities at Stone Valley Recreation Area and portables activities on the University Park Campus. Facilitators will work closely with Lead Facilitators and Outdoor Adventures management to provide an opportunity for a variety of organizations to recognize and reach their potential. This includes promoting self-confidence, positive group dynamics, and continued growth in team-oriented skills. Candidates should be creative, motivating, and engaging leaders who have a desire to with individuals and groups of all ages, demographics, and backgrounds in an exciting and adventurous environment. Must attend mandatory monthly staff meetings and participate in ongoing staff development workshops and trainings. First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher) certification required. Prior experience is not required. Campus Recreation is a department within Student Affairs that provides fitness, wellness, and recreational programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the new expanded and renovated 200,000 square-foot Intramural Building, the McCoy Natatorium, the 700-acre Stone Valley Outdoor Recreation Area, a Tennis Center including six clay courts and four indoor courts, the White Building, Outdoor Adventures, Aquatics, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellness Programs, and Intramural Sports.
