JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The laboratory of Associate Professor Ganesh S. Anand in the Department of Chemistry and Huck Institute of the Life Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University, seeks to fill two Postdoctoral Research positions. The research focus of our group is on mapping Assembly:Disassembly transitions in whole viral particles and probing dynamics of macromolecular complexes in signaling by a combination of structural mass spectrometry tools and biophysical methods. Our research group and mass spectrometry core has recently installed cutting-edge proteomics and structural mass spectrometry instrumentation that include a Synapt-XS (ESI-QTof MS with Leap robot) for HDXMS applications, Orbitrap-Eclipse for proteomics, Orbitrap-UHMR for Native MS and MALDI-Tof MS.

Applicants with a strong biochemistry/structural biology background are encouraged to apply. Mass spectrometry/Proteomics expertise is not a prerequisite but applicants with this experience are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.D.in an area broadly relevant to our research program by the time employment starts. In addition to research, responsibilities include mentoring, core facility operations.

The initial appointment is for one-year from the date of hire with a possibility of reappointment. All applicants will be encouraged to apply for independent funding.
