Summary:

The Construction Project Manager NAM, reporting to the Head of Construction Project Management, is an integral part of establishing the warehousing logistics capabilities and growth across the globe.

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing construction engineering, planning, and design of all strategic asset investments of Maersk FbM facilities in North America. Working closely with cross-functional teams and external consultants to deliver projects according with approved cost and schedule, in the warehousing, cold stores, depots and fulfilment space for Maersk. Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership of engineering and construction management of all construction projects, from pre-investment approval to completion.
  • Drive and lead the construction projects in line with the project's scope, timeline, quality, budget and Maersk standards and objectives.
  • Responsible for project support on new fulfillment network buildings, depots and additional capacity requirements within existing European Region.
  • Ensure that contracts are fit for purpose, cost effective and incorporate appropriate Service Level Agreements.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, technical analysis to fully define the design requirements, equipment and services required.
  • Actively promote safety and assume a visible leadership role on the construction site. Maintain full awareness of safety as a priority.
  • Track construction progress against the approved baseline and, where appropriate, ensure issues are pro-actively addressed, resolved and/or escalated and reported.
  • Build collaborative relationships with Global and Regional stakeholders to ensure timely Engineering resources allocated during the Investment process and project development.
  • Key link to Facility Design, IRE/Procurement, Product, Delivery, HSSE, Decarbonization, IT and other internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all project designs and modifications adhere to all relevant safety and compliance regulations.
  • Provide overall site management, coordination, planning, specification of business proposals and coordination of subcontractors.
  • Implement Maersk project controls / project procedures to manage the construction in a forward-looking manner.
  • Manage, submit, and track relevant CAPEX requests (Capital Planning) to ensure that all projects are delivered within budget and best overall value.
  • Establish and operate the information systems necessary for effective scheduling, cost management, risk management and recording of contract work. Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, project construction plans, specifications, reporting, etc.
  • Assess and communicate project status, drive escalations on potential risks and delays across multiple teams.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practices to enhance warehouse design and performance.
  • Audit contractors to check that the skills and competences of contract labor are appropriate to need, and they are fit to undertake the work on which they will be deployed.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in engineering, architecture, building sciences or relevant subjects.
  • Verifiable experience working ideally in Logistic infrastructure, development, and/or construction industry.
  • Good understanding of Project Management build on Technical Engineering skills.
  • Experience using MS Excel, CAD\BIM related software's, MS Project.
  • Knowledge about industrial construction, container handling equipment, manual and automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions.
  • Excellent technical (written and verbal) English communication skills. Spanish is a plus.
  • Sensitive to cultural diversity and experience in a multicultural environment, in regard to employees, local authorities and other stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Pay Range:

$114,000 -$141,000

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
