Description

Architect III (Unlicensed)

Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for an Architect Level III (Unlicensed) at our Fort Worth office. This role assists the design teams through all project design and production phases including architectural programming, master planning, schematic design, design development, construction drawings, permitting assistance, and construction contract administration. The ideal candidate will have worked on commercial, industrial, and/or institutional projects and have a minimum of six years of experience.

Reports to: Senior Associate, Architecture

Employment Type: 40 FT Hours

Compensation Type: Salary

Education: Bachelor's in Architecture required

Duties:

  • Assists in architectural programming, design, production of construction documents and construction contract administration tasks
  • Creates designs using Revit software and prepares construction documents using information supplied by a supervisor and/or data obtained from their research activities
  • Integrates information from other disciplines/consultants and suppliers into models and drawings
  • Liaises with project management, other architects/architectural staff, other disciplines, and consultant
  • Provide guidance and assistance to architectural staff with less experience
  • Prepares presentation drawings and illustrations for client and/or public presentations
  • In construction contract administration duties, processes contractor submittals review and distribution; assists with contractor requests for information; may perform jobsite visits to observe the work progress of the contractor
  • Assists with preparation and/or editing of technical specifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree from a NCARB accredited program required; Master's degree is a plus
  • 6 or more years of experience in a professional architecture environment
  • Demonstrated design and technical experience producing construction documents
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of building codes
  • Knowledge of building design and construction means, methods and techniques
  • Proficient in REVIT/BIM development
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to write clearly and communicate technical issues and design ideas

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion
  • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
