We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of IT Digital Experience Expert/Advisor with our manufacturing facilities located in Ingleside, Texas.

A successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for:



  • Providing primary in-person / remote support to staff in resolving incidents, fulfilling requests, and implementing approved changes for IT services at the local OxyChem plants and administrative sites (Ingleside and Markham). This includes daily onsite core work hours and occasional after hours and weekend support and travel between sites.
  • Providing secondary support for other US & Canada OxyChem manufacturing sites and headquarters (Dallas) with potential for travel up to one work week at a time, 1-2 times annually, to provide backup on-site support and assist with new staff setup.
  • Core desktop & field equipment support duties include but are not limited to:

    • Setup & configuration of user equipment including: desktops, laptops, tablets, monitors, mice, keyboards, speakers, cables, loaner devices, webcams, desktop phones, and other peripheral devices
    • Installing Oxy Imaging on user laptops/desktop/tablet devices
    • Troubleshooting and resolving user desktop incidents including: hardware issues, Microsoft Windows operating system and Office product issues, desktop phones
    • Troubleshooting conference room audio/visual equipment
    • Managing / maintaining asset inventory to include ordering replacement and new equipment as approved, receipt of IT equipment deliveries, and equipment retirement and salvaging
    • Relocating user, network, or server equipment as assigned


  • Other site-specific duties include:

    • Oxy mobile application troubleshooting and incident escalation
    • Site-specific desktop software installation, maintenance, incident resolution, and request fulfillment
    • Enterprise software response and incident escalation
    • Assistance with network, server and communications equipment and cabling support and incident escalation
    • Xerox printer/plotter troubleshooting and support and incident escalation
    • Conference Room Audio/Visual equipment troubleshooting and support
    • Active Directory group assignments as requested / approved
    • Developing site-specific IT knowledge documentation
    • Escorting non-Oxy visitors for IT site-specific approved project
    • Development and conducting end user onboarding and training sessions


  • Adherence to all Oxy safety standards and complete all in-person and online required staff training as assigned by management and human resources.
  • Ensure protection and secure storage of the IT environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority.
  • Ensure all incidents, requests and changes are entered and managed in the ServiceNow ticketing system and work with outsourced service desk staff and other IT teams as appropriate for service needs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; climb ladders and stairs; walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to work in confined spaces as needed and the ability to crawl under furniture to make computer connections.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional IT experience required plus 4-year college degree in IT discipline from an accredited college or university or 10+ years of IT experience required without a degree.
  • Experienced / knowledgeable in:

    • Computer imaging process, networking hardware and cabling fundamentals, and telecommunications
    • Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT system for managing Incidents, Requests, and Changes.
    • Installing printer, peripheral and option cards hardware.
    • Troubleshooting and resolving desktop hardware, Windows OS, applications, audio / visual, printing, and network issues
    • IT asset inventorying and user desktop setup best practices


  • Proficient with Microsoft applications (Windows 10/11, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Service and team-oriented mindset to work with IT colleagues to provide positive, quality experiences to valued business users and ability to handle ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of a major corporation.
  • Excellent prioritization, organization, decision-making and time-management skills.
  • Motivated to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision and with onsite and remote colleagues to collaborate on workload balancing and execution.
  • Ability to work overtime/weekends as required and be on call to respond to off-hours business requests.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment including the use of an escape respirator and be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.


  • Knowledgeable in ITIL fundamentals
