Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will manage and process payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance with applicable laws, and the timely resolution of payroll-related issues. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of payroll systems, demonstrate strong analytical abilities, and maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Process bi-weekly payroll using Workday, including on-cycle/off-cycle payments, bonuses, and termination pay, ensuring full compliance with state pay laws and IRS regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Manage garnishments and handle multi-state payroll processing.
  • Respond promptly to payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers, resolving issues efficiently.
  • Generate and prepare payroll and time/attendance reports, as needed.
  • Support employees and managers with Workday Time and Attendance inquiries, assisting with timesheet errors, submission deadlines, and troubleshooting.
  • Create and maintain SOPs for payroll processes, ensuring up-to-date documentation.
  • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including reporting and compliance tasks.


Qualifications:



  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or 3+ years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in Workday payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite required; ADP experience is a plus.
  • Expertise in multi-state payroll processing and familiarity with payroll tax filings and benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, and ability to work with confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

  • Office environment with the flexibility to work remotely 3 days a week.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
