Group/Division

The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work on problems of diverse scope in support of day to day manufacturing team activity, continuous improvement projects (CIP), and occasionally new production introduction (NPI).
  • Build and update BOM's, assembly drawings, assembly procedures, and technical documentation for subassemblies and product releases.
  • Work with Production Personnel (technicians, planners, buyers) to resolve sophisticated manufacturing issues and implement corrective action.
  • Fully understands and applies problem solving methods (8D) to uncover root cause and to devise solutions for sophisticated problems.
  • Provide quality feedback, work with, and develop ongoing relationships with suppliers, including multiple precision machine shops.
  • Perform failure analysis, both informal and formal.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and two years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Precision Electromechanical technologies and sophisticated, precision, industrial equipment.
  • SolidWorks / AutoCAD.
  • Cleanroom experience.
  • Read and interpret design drawings, and perform updates of models or drawings.
  • Motion Control Instrument background; automation, robotics, medical, stages, etc....
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in mechanics and motion control systems.
  • An effective communicator, able to share technical information with functional groups.
  • Natural curiosity, inventiveness, and an interest in understanding and making things work better.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
