The Opportunity

The Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences (BSBS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF), College of Medicine, invites outstanding applicants for two non-tenure earning, assistant or associate professor of medicine positions. These nine-month positions will have undergraduate and graduate student teaching responsibilities in the area of neuroscience in the Burnett School on main campus, as well as service at the department, college, or university level. Other aspects of the position can include mentoring students, leading undergraduate honors in the major projects, and mentoring master's nonthesis capstone projects. The anticipated start date is between May 2025 and August 2025.

As part of the UCF College of Medicine, the Burnett School has 56 full-time faculty, more than 2,000 undergraduate majors and 150 graduate students in M.S., Ph.D., and M.D./Ph.D. programs. Faculty in BSBS contribute to training a growing number of undergraduate students pursuing degrees in biomedical sciences and pre-clinical disciplines. Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D. from an accredited institution in anappropriatelifesciencesdiscipline. ABD's will be considered, but all the degree requirements much be completed by the time they begin their appointment.

Candidates to be considered for associate professor rank must have been previously promoted at a prior institute of higher education and expected to have credentials consistent with promotion criteria for the Burnett School.

Preferred Qualifications:

AdegreeinNeuroscience or Molecular Neuroscience fromanaccreditedinstitutionispreferred. Prior undergraduateteachingexperience inlecturesand/orlabs at an accredited institution of higher education is preferred.
