As a Maintenance Electrician, you will provide your knowledge and experience to drive workplace changes, utilize your analytical troubleshooting skills to minimize machine downtime, and deliver detail-oriented results within a manufacturing environment. This position requires flexibility, initiative, and perseverance to troubleshoot and solve complex problems and is expected to anticipate problems and take decisive, proactive measures to avoid or minimize adverse impacts on the facilities or equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex industrial electrical equipment on systems within a wire and cable manufacturing environment.
  2. Diagnose and resolve complex electrical problems on a wide variety of rotating machinery to include, but not limited to, sanding, cabling, armoring, and extruding equipment.
  3. Install, troubleshoot, and repair variable frequency drives (VFDs) and direct current drives (DCs) drives.
  4. Perform diagnostic work up to the programmable logic controller (PLC) level.
  5. Perform preventive maintenance work in accordance with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommendations on wire and cable manufacturing equipment.
  6. Perform all work in a safe manner according to all OSHA, National Fire Protection Association's Standards for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70e), plus Company regulations.
  7. Perform routine start-up and testing of emergency generators.
  8. Participate in safety training and report unsafe conditions.
  9. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment up to 600 volts.
  10. Troubleshoot, repair and/or install main and branch circuit breakers, disconnects and wiring devices such as switches, convenience and/or dedicated receptacles, possibly without the aid of a blueprint or schematic.
  11. Create work orders, requisitioning of parts and documentation.



Requirements

  1. This position is subject to the requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as such, applicants must be a U.S. person defined as a citizen, national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee
  2. Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent
  3. 10+ years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Electrician
  4. Previous work experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment, preferably within wire and cable sector.
  5. Successful completion of an approved electrical apprentice program and/or a U.S. Armed Forces equivalent military occupational specialty (MOS).
  6. Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License.
  7. Experience using laptop to interface with Siemens and Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller (PLC).
  8. Knowledge of and hands-on experience with Siemens Step 7 and RSLogix.
  9. Must be able to operate various industrial power equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulating/telescoping boom lifts.
  10. Current or expired Electrical licensure is desired but not mandatory.
  11. Subject to 24-hour on-call status and work emergency overtime when required.
  12. Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screen.
  13. Must be willing to submit to a background check.
  14. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment as required.



Work Environment

The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing environment that requires the use of personal protective equipment including steel toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Manufacturing areas may be affected by outside temperatures and machining.

Manufacturing areas are affected by outside temperatures and machining. Must be able to work indoors/outdoors in harsh environments such as extreme heat, humidity and cold. Must be able to traverse property and facility to perform work assignments. Must be able to work from elevated areas and in confined spaces. This position requires the ability to bend, stoop and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as climb ramps and stairs; read and write, work with a computer and keyboard; hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery, sirens, and alarms); speak to express or exchange ideas, impart oral information to include instructions; vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception. Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds in a safe and proper manner.
