Our Values: Respect Integrity Excellence Collective Success Clarity and Transparency Sustainability What you'll be doing: In support of US Sailing's mission to grow and strengthen the sport of sailing, the Director is responsible for leading all aspects of our Membership business. This is a key leadership role responsible for providing excellent customer service, building, facilitating, and maintaining relationships with Sailing Organizations & Yacht Clubs as well as individual members. The role will include implementing a robust value proposition designed to increase, heighten, and promote US Sailing programs and services to the broad sailing community. The Membership Director will report to the Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Memberships and work closely with the US Sailing leadership team, the Directors of Marketing and Partnership Marketing as well as across the entire organization. This role requires a forward-thinking, creative leader focused on developing and delivering innovative member engagement strategies and experiences to grow both US Sailing and the sport. Interpersonal skills that can motivate and foster collaboration with a wide array of stakeholders including staff, volunteers, industry partners and sailing organizations, are critical to success in this role. The position is a crucial member of the organization and is involved in major strategic and operational decisions affecting the organization and responsible for the following: Develop, manage and achieve department budget and goals for revenue & memberships Execute on the Membership value proposition and strategic plan Lead our outreach and communication to both group and individual members Build, facilitate, and maintain relationships with Sailing Organizations and US Sailing's members Manage the organizational membership loyalty program(s) Responsible for developing and implementing services and programs for the 1,500+ organizational members and 43,000 individual members of US Sailing Collaborate across the organization and work with all departments to promote US Sailing's broad array of services, programs and products to members and potential members Manage, develop, and train the Membership Team to provide first class customer service to US Sailing constituents Solicit member feedback on programs and services and develop actionable opportunities Work within our existing database system for outreach while leading the membership transition to a new system Promote existing membership benefits and improve membership value by enhancing membership benefits working with the Partnership Team Create and implement member retention strategies Assess the marketplace and ideate for exponential growth opportunities Possess the highest integrity and values consistent with those of US Sailing Ability to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays if needed Ability to travel domestically Explore best practices with other NGB's and share both internally and externally Who you are: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related discipline required.
