Inova Fairfax Hospital, Labor & Delivery is looking for a dedicated and passionate Surgical Technologist 2 to join its growing team. The position is scheduled to work M-F 8am-4pm, and up to 16 hours of call in 6 weeks in CS OR. Job Responsibilities:

• The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical technique.
• Demonstrates responsible behavior as a healthcare professional.
• Identifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in patient needs.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy and is able to anticipate the required instrumentation for each step of a surgical procedure.
• Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the surgeon.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year experience as a Surgical Technologist required
• Licensed Surgical Technologist via Commonwealth of Virginia required upon Start
• Basic Life Support via American Heart Association required upon Start
• One of the following Surgical Technologist certification high preferred:
  
  
  
  • (CST) via NBSTSA
  • Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT
  
  
• Experienced in scrubbing C/S cases, highly preferred
