Tax Manager (CPA)

FlexStaff is seeking a Tax Manager to join our client's team, a leading consumer goods company. This position is a permanent, direct-hire role, 100% onsite in Nassau County.

This person will be responsible for the company's tax compliance, tax planning and accounting for income taxes. Candidates must have experience with planning for pass-through entities designed for high-net-worth individuals and experience with closely held entities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Responsible for completion of federal and state income tax returns including all related analysis and support

* Conduct tax planning

* Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues

* Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes

* Manage, develop, train and mentor staff on tax projects.

REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's degree in accounting. Master's degree in taxation preferred

* CPA (Certified Public Accountant)

* Knowledge of S Corp returns

* Experience with corporate and individual tax returns

* Must be current with tax legislation.

* Research skills in corporate, individual, and state taxes

* Compliance experience preferred

* Audit experience preferred but not required

* Seven or more years of related tax consulting experience

* Experience with Partnership and Trust returns

* Estate and Gift Tax returns preferred
