Founded in 1945 as Elliott Auto Supply Co., Inc., Factory Motor Parts (FMP) Co. has grown from a small, single location in Minneapolis to over 300 locations in 19 states. Our company name, Factory Motor Parts, was acquired from our participation in the former Chrysler Mopar Distribution network of the 1960s and symbolizes our valuable partnerships with Ford, General Motors and many other respected aftermarket companies.
FMP’s expansion began in 1993, when the company went from three locations to 32 locations within five years. FMP entered into Bismarck, Omaha, Phoenix, Denver and other markets expanding our core focus to better serve the automotive aftermarket.
In recent years, our reputation for unmatched availability combined with exceptional service and knowledgeable staff, have been keys to FMP’s success and has propelled our growth with independent service centers. Today as an aftermarket distribution partner with original equipment suppliers, we serve markets in the Midwest, Mountain States, Southwest, Northeast, North Carolina and West Coast including Alaska.
FMP is a multi-generational, family-owned company that prides itself on providing premium original equipment and name brand automotive parts, serving as a total resource for independent service centers, dealerships, fleets and wholesale customers.
Headquartered in Eagan, MN, FMP continuously seeks the input of our customers, staff and industry professionals to create programs and provide resources that support the automotive sectors we serve. With over 75 years in business, FMP's commitment every day is to be a dynamic, ever-adapting partner that meets and exceeds the unique needs of each of our customers.
