UGSI Chemical Feed, Inc. The role of the Production Technician I is to perform various functions within the manufacturing, warehouse, and packaging operations. This position will mostly work from schedules, material orders, established procedures, specifications, and written and/or verbal instructions. This role reports directly to the Production Manager and is based in Vineland, New Jersey. The Production Technician I will be a dependable, diligent, and motivated initiative-taker with a strong work ethic and dedication to a team environment. Training provided for all essential job functions.

Essential Job Functions
  • Pull parts for Production using materials order (MO) picklist.
  • Assemble and test products in a safe and timely manner.
  • Computer proficiency to complete required responsibilities.
  • Build lower-level sub-assemblies.
  • Follow safe operation of equipment and machines.
  • Package equipment for shipment.
  • Crosstrain in other areas within the manufacturing facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to accurately perform shop math.
  • Ability to read and follow basic mechanical and electrical assembly drawings.
  • Recognize and safely/effectively use hand and power tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as required from time to time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Three to five years’ manufacturing experience or equivalent.
  • Computer skills that include familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel).

Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, speak, and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate the equipment and tools required for this position.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
  • Light Industrial – Certain undertaking includes working with lacquer propellants, epoxies, and lubricants.
  • Exposure to liquid and dry chemicals and substances associated with water and wastewater treatment, including permanganate, polymers, sodium hypochlorite, and liquid ammonium sulfate, among others.

This position is non-exempt. Compensation is dependent on skill level. The base hourly range for this position is $16.00 to $21.00. Benefits package and incentives provided.
